Be part of an immersive, interactive journey through 6 million years of scientific evidence for human origins and the stories of survival and extinction in our family tree during times of dramatic climate instability. Help visitors learn about the lives of their distant ancestors and explore major milestones in the origins of human behaviors. Bring the past alive by facilitating conversations, engaging in hands-on activities, and interpreting exhibit content for thousands of people.

Requirements:

Must be 18 or over

Attend ALL training sessions

Complete all online training modules

Volunteer for at least 1 year

Volunteer shifts are 9:45 am-1:45 pm and 1:15 pm-5:15 pm 7 days per week

Must complete Smithsonian Institution background check
Training Dates (must attend ALL dates):

Sunday, January 11th, 9 am - 3:30 pm

Your first shift will be a shadow shift in the exhibit with an experienced volunteer
